The caregiver's name was Maria Esther Alvarez Salvatierra (28-yrs-old) and has been accompanying the old lady for three consecutive years until last December when the family of the old woman discovered that Maria was indeed abusing the old woman.
The family hired Maria to take care of the old woman during weekends at their neighborhood in Belgrano. One day, a neighbor warned the family that the one they're hiring (Maria) has been mistreating and abusing the old lady. The family can't believe about it until they were forced to install CCTV cameras inside the house and concluded that the allegations were true.
"It was very hard to believe because she (Maria) was very sweet and a loving person to my mother while in front of us," said Marino Miriam, the daughter of the victim.
