A Student disrespected the Philippine Flag and used it as a Mop! Check this out!

A viral video has been circulating on different social media sites about an unnamed student who disrespected the National Flag of the Philippines by using it as a Mop on the floor of their classroom.

It seems that students nowadays doesn't know the rules about the National Flag anymore or if they know it, its possible that they're ignoring the law and rules about the National Flag.

Back in the days, students were assigned to raise and pull down the National Flag in the flag pole, and must be folded neatly in a triangular fold. The National Flag should not get wet by any means. From elementary to college, kids, and teens are taught in school that one must learn to respect the flag and to take good care of it.

According to the law, Republic Act No. 8491, "mutilation, defacement, defilement, trampling upon or casting contempt any act or omission casting  dishonor or ridicule upon the flag over its surface."

Anyone that is found guilty of violating the said provisions above in the said act shall "be punished by a fine of not less than Five Thousand Pesos (₱ 5,000.00) not more than Twenty Thousand Pesos (₱ 20,000.00), or by imprisonment for not more than one (1) year, or both such fine and imprisonment, at the discretion of the court."
